About Yunus Mohamed
Before establishing his own service, he worked as a mental health community development worker, and in 2007 he founded the BCOM Counselling service in Bolton. Over the years he has worked directly with people from diverse backgrounds, supporting them through mental health concerns, marital difficulties, anger management and related issues.
Across his practice he has developed experience in mediating between family members, including parents, children and extended relatives, helping families to find clearer communication and workable arrangements. His therapeutic style is eclectic - drawing on different methods rather than a single technique - and for Muslim clients he often integrates fundamental Islamic values into the counselling process when appropriate.
Yunus's approach is rooted in the Rogerian tradition of unconditional positive regard, empathy and genuineness, while remaining flexible to each person's needs. He believes no single method fits everyone and adapts his work to the individual. In recognition of his contributions, he was a National Mental Health Award Winner in 2019.

Licensed professionals and therapists offer a range of approaches and you can change therapists if you feel another fit would be better. For those balancing work, family or other commitments, online therapy provides a practical way to receive ongoing support while maintaining continuity of care.
