About Kristi McClatchy
In addition to helping people manage anxiety and routine stress, Kristi has training in treating trauma related to childhood abuse and neglect. When working with survivors of childhood trauma, she uses Internal Family Systems - often shortened to IFS - alongside other trauma-informed methods to support processing and recovery. For those who did not experience abuse but who did experience attachment injuries in childhood, Kristi offers education on attachment theory and practical guidance for beginning to heal the inner child. She helps clients identify attachment styles and develop strategies aimed at moving toward earned secure attachment, which can improve trust and connection in adult relationships.
Kristi also examines how broader social systems shape individual lives. She uses Feminist, Postmodern, and Queer-allied approaches to explore how identity intersects with power and oppression, and she has experience supporting survivors of religious trauma using mindfulness-based techniques to sustain a sense of interconnection and spiritual understanding. Creative expression is woven into her work through art, movement, writing, meditation, and music, with treatment plans tailored to each person’s unique needs.
Kristi’s training includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and Feminist Therapy. She is currently not able to address substance abuse and dependency, any and all addictions, divorce, custody disputes, self-harming behaviors within the past year, disordered eating including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder, severe depression, anger management, domestic violence, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, ADHD, or recent suicidal thoughts. If it becomes clear that a different level of care or a therapist with other training would be a better fit, she will help connect the person to a more appropriate resource.
Taking the first step toward a more peaceful and fulfilling life takes courage, and Kristi is honored to support people on their healing journeys.

One of the main benefits is flexibility. People can choose the communication style that suits them best, whether that is a video call, a phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to access help from different locations.
Licensed professionals offer a variety of approaches and clients may switch therapists if they would like a different fit. Online therapy can expand access to therapists while still supporting meaningful progress on everyday concerns and personal growth.
