About Eric Bolella

Eric Bolella is a licensed psychotherapist who brings a decade of clinical experience to his work with individuals and families. He earned a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Central Connecticut State University in 2013 and holds the LMFT credential - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - which reflects specialized training in relational and family systems.

Early in his career he worked in outpatient settings with inner city youth and low income families in New Britain, CT, and served as a clinician in a therapeutic adolescent boys group home. He later managed a therapeutic adolescent girls group home and most recently led a state-funded nonprofit domestic violence program focused on reforming abusive behaviors and repairing family bonds to help keep families together and prevent state intervention. He currently maintains a private practice using telehealth services.

As a practitioner, Eric is a systemic thinker with a strong focus on trauma. His work is grounded in solution-focused strategies and a socratic conversational style, with notable influences from Internal Family Systems (IFS) as developed by Dick Schwartz, Gabor Maté’s Compassionate Inquiry, and narrative therapy approaches. He integrates these perspectives to help clients explore internal parts, clarify stories that shape experience, and identify practical steps toward change.

Clinical strengths include supporting people through general life stress, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, trauma-related issues, intimate relationship concerns, and life cycle transitions. Eric combines relational insight with targeted therapeutic techniques to help clients navigate complex challenges and build more adaptive patterns.
