About Christopher Horrex

Christopher Horrex is a fully qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). He draws on multiple therapeutic models because he believes each person brings distinct needs and life experience to the therapy room. Using person-centred, existential, and psychodynamic ideas, he works collaboratively to explore present concerns alongside significant past experiences that matter to the individual.

Through joint exploration he seeks to identify life scripts and repeating patterns that may shape how a person thinks, feels, behaves and relates to others. He aims to offer an open, non-judgemental space where feelings and needs that were previously diminished or dismissed can be acknowledged. His approach supports increasing self-awareness, fostering self-acceptance and integrating different parts of the self so a person can move toward greater confidence and agency in life choices.

Before training as a therapist, he worked in advertising and experienced a personal shift toward relational and caring work. He spent time on youth development programmes in central India and then returned to London to work in a centre supporting people with special learning needs. He continues to work part-time in a neurodiversity affirming setting as a tutor and mentor. His formal training included three years in integrative therapy and encompassed two years of counselling experience with the NHS.

Over the course of his training and work he has worked with a wide range of issues, including anxiety disorders, panic attacks, depression, suicidal ideation, prejudice and discrimination, abusive relationships, life changes, low self-esteem, ADHD, sexuality, grief and loss.

Could Remote Therapy Be a Good Fit?

Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist remotely can make a meaningful difference. For a range of common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes - online therapy can offer outcomes comparable to traditional in-person sessions for many people.

One of the main benefits is flexibility. Individuals can connect with therapists in the format that works best for them - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to fit therapy around work, family, and other commitments.

Therapists who provide online support are licensed professionals, and it is possible to change therapists if the fit does not feel right. For people seeking a practical, accessible way to work on common emotional and relational issues, online therapy can be a convenient and effective option.
